An extensive extended journey circling Australia is being halted days after the fatal incident of an elderly lady who was abandoned by the cruise liner on a isolated island.

The elderly woman had been walking on the tropical location with other travelers from the cruise ship, but broke off from the group for a break. The vessel left without her and returned several hours later after the crew became aware the lady was missing.

An extensive search operation found her person the following day.

Officials are examining the tragedy, in coordination with investigators and the state coroner.

Chief Executive of the cruise operator stated that travelers and personnel on the Coral Adventurer were notified that the rest of the voyage had been called off due to the "sad loss and previous engine troubles".

Through an announcement, he added that passengers would be provided a full refund, and said the organization was working "to coordinate the return journeys of the travelers via chartered flights".

Authorities also published an updated communication, and said they had "provided a directive to the Master" preventing any additional guests from entering the ship.

The official said that they would visit the ship in Cairns upon its coming back.

The vessel first departed the Australian port on October 24th, and was merely two days into the journey at the moment of the elderly woman's death. The tropical location was the opening port on the journey.
